Because most of this quilt is not pieced and because the sheer fabric squares are quilted with an "X" through the middle, it has a lot of depth to it. My favorite part however is the sheer fabric squares that are orange, green, and pink as I think they add an unexpected subtlety to this piece.
Serendipitously there are 49 squares in the blue section, which is as close to 50 as you can get in a grid format. |
