This piece was made for an Island Batik Ambassador's challenge to make a Modern-style quilt. For the cream-colored background I used some of the pre-cut California Creamery jelly roll, which determined the size of the strips. The 30 blue and purple fabrics came from the Wind & Sea, Desert Rose, and Sweet Pea collections.

I named it Flight like the path of something flying and also like a flight of stairs, and that it could be a noun or a verb.
