This  is a confetti quilt where very small pieces of fabric (and even some thread) are spread on a background fabric, covered with tulle netting, and then quilted in place.

I made it around the time that we saw the musical "Wicked" and now I see the character Elphaba who becomes the wicked witch of the west.
