The Pick-up-sticks on this quilt were made by sewing three lines across each square using variegated threads in red, blue, and a yellow/brown. Because I didn't want the lines to cross into the adjacent squares, I top stitched them onto the fabric before I pieced it.

I like how the colored lines give the piece a little pop of color and move the eye around.

Did you noticed that each horizontal row and each vertical column only has one checker in it?
